YVA

(1900-1944)

Yva was the professional pseudonym of Else Ernestine Neuländer-Simon, who was of German Jewish descent and renowned for her multiple- exposed photographs of Weimar Berlin. When the Nazis came to power, Yva worked as a radiographer before being deported to a concentration camp in 1942.
