TONI VON HORN

(1899-1970)

Toni von Horn was one of the first women photographers to join Condé Nast’s Vogue, Vanity Fair and Harper’s Bazaar magazines from 1930 to 1935. Von Horn was born in Mannheim, Germany and studied photography at Hamburg Kunstgewerbeschule in 1920. She moved to New York in 1923 and opened a portrait studio on West 52nd Street before signing a contract at Condé Nast in 1930.
