Mabel Elizabeth Lomnitz was born in 1859 in Manchester. Between 1896 and 1914 she ran a photographic studio at 26 Victoria Street in London, which would later become the studio of photographers Florence Vandamm (1883-1966), Nora Katie Munday (1881-1972), Patricia Russell (1910-2004) and Edith Mathew. A photograph by Lomnitz of "Miss May" was on the front cover of The Sketch on 28th May 1902. She died in Hove in 1938.
