EMILIE BIEBER

(1810-1884)

Emilie Bieber of Hamburg was one of the first professional women daguerrotypists. She opened a studio in Hamburg on 16 September 1852. Bieber became a court photographer in 1873 and continued to run her studio until 1885 when she handed it down to her nephew, Leonard Bieber (1841-1931) who then opened a branch in Berlin.
