CHARLOTTE FAIRCHILD

(1876-1927)

Charlotte Fairchild was an American photographer who began her career after the death of her husband John Cummings Fairchild in 1915. A series of Fairchild’s photographs were first published in The New York Times on 20th October 1918 to support a World War I campaign, and this aided Fairchild’s rise to photographic fame and to subsequently photograph for magazines such as Vogue and Vanity Fair.
